What Makes Spanish 3 Special?

Learn Spanish Through Natural Language Acquisition

Our lessons are designed to help children understand Spanish without constantly translating everything into English.

Teachers use comprehensible input, gestures, pictures, repetition, and meaningful interactions to make Spanish understandable.

Students actively participate by listening, answering questions, practicing conversations, singing, and enjoying stories.

Rather than memorizing isolated vocabulary lists, children encounter Spanish in meaningful contexts that help them gradually develop comprehension and speaking skills.

Begin Reading Spanish With Our Adapted McGuffey Primer

One of the most exciting additions to Spanish 3 is our Spanish translation and adaptation of the McGuffey Primer!

This classic reading resource has been carefully adapted to help students begin developing reading skills in Spanish.

Through gentle, progressive reading practice, children become familiar with written Spanish while continuing to strengthen their listening comprehension and conversational abilities.

Our goal is to help students gradually connect the Spanish they hear and speak with the Spanish they see on the page.

The Spanish McGuffey Primer is included as a digital file with your enrollment!

Practice Real Conversations With a Native Spanish Speaker

Our live classes give students something that independent study cannot fully replicate: the opportunity to communicate directly with a teacher.

Students practice:

  • Listening to and understanding spoken Spanish

  • Answering questions in Spanish

  • Participating in conversations

  • Describing pictures and familiar situations

  • Reciting Spanish poetry

  • Reading Spanish aloud

  • Building confidence using the language

Our small class sizes allow teachers to encourage participation and give individual attention to each student.

🎵 Charlotte Mason–Inspired Lessons

We believe that language learning should be enjoyable, meaningful, and rich in beautiful language.

Our lessons incorporate:

  • Traditional Spanish folk songs

  • Poetry and recitation

  • Stories and storytelling

  • Conversational practice

  • Interactive language games

  • Reading practice

  • Gentle repetition and review

We want children to enjoy the language they are learning—not simply memorize information about it.

 Small Classes, Meaningful Participation

With only 3–5 students per classroom, children have regular opportunities to interact with their teacher and classmates.

Our teachers create a welcoming environment where students can practice speaking, listening, and reading without the pressure of needing to be perfect.

We want children to feel comfortable trying new words, answering questions, and gradually becoming more confident Spanish speakers.

 Designed for Homeschool Families

As homeschoolers ourselves, we understand the importance of providing a rich education without overwhelming your family's schedule.

Our classes meet for just 30 minutes twice a week, making Spanish easy to incorporate into your homeschool routine.

The teacher leads the lessons, so parents don't need to prepare or teach the material.

What Will My Child Learn?

Spanish 3 continues developing the essential language skills introduced in our younger levels while adding an emphasis on learning to read in Spanish.

Throughout the year, students will:

  • Build everyday Spanish vocabulary and conversational expressions

  • Develop listening comprehension through immersive lessons

  • Practice speaking and responding to questions

  • Learn traditional Spanish songs and poems

  • Begin reading Spanish using our adapted McGuffey Primer

  • Practice reading aloud

  • Develop familiarity with written Spanish

  • Strengthen their confidence communicating in Spanish

Our goal is to develop students who can increasingly understand, speak, and read Spanish, rather than simply memorize vocabulary and grammar rules.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Does my child need to complete Spanish 1 and 2 first?

No!

Spanish 3 can be an excellent starting point for older elementary students who are new to Spanish.

While Spanish 1 and 2 are designed for younger children, Spanish 3 introduces beginners to the language at a pace and developmental level appropriate for ages 8–11.

We also include a Basics of Spanish video that introduces foundational vocabulary such as greetings, colors, numbers, and other essential expressions, so older beginners can get started without completing the younger levels first.

2. Does my child need to know how to read Spanish before enrolling?

Not at all!

Learning to read Spanish is one of the main goals of this level.

Students begin developing their Spanish reading skills through our adapted McGuffey Primer while continuing to learn the language through listening, speaking, songs, and conversation.

3. Is Spanish 3 appropriate for a complete beginner?

Yes!

Spanish 3 is designed to accommodate older elementary beginners. Students don't need previous Spanish experience to begin.

4. Do I need to speak Spanish to help my child?

No!

Our teachers lead the lessons, so parents do not need to know Spanish or teach the curriculum.

We do encourage families to practice songs, poems, and conversational phrases together whenever possible.

5. What happens if my child misses a class?

Classes are recorded, and replays remain available for two weeks after each lesson.

This allows students to catch up on missed lessons or review what they have learned.

6. Are books and materials included?

Yes!

Your enrollment includes the printable student books and supporting materials needed for the course.

You'll also receive our Spanish translation and adaptation of the McGuffey Primer as a digital file.

There is no need to purchase additional curriculum.

7. Can siblings learn together?

Absolutely!

You have two options:

Option 1: One enrolled student

Your family is welcome to watch and learn together under one enrollment. However, only one child may participate directly with the teacher during each class. You may rotate which child participates from one class to another.

Option 2: Enroll multiple children

If you would like each child to participate with the teacher during the same class, each child needs their own enrollment.

We offer a 50% discount for each additional sibling, even if your children are enrolled in different levels.

The sibling discount is applied automatically at checkout.

8. Can I pay in installments?

Yes! We offer payment plan options at checkout.

You can select the payment option that works best for your family.

9. What equipment will we need?

Your child will need:

  • A computer or tablet with internet access

  • A working webcam

  • A microphone

  • A quiet place to participate in class

We recommend using a computer or tablet rather than a phone whenever possible.

10. How do I complete registration?

After purchasing your course, you will receive a link to complete your family's registration.

Please complete the registration form as soon as possible so we can prepare for your child and provide the information needed before classes begin.

11. Can we receive a refund if our plans change?

All course purchases are nonrefundable.

Please make sure the classroom schedule works for your family before enrolling.

12. Will tuition be reduced if my child misses a class?

No. Tuition covers enrollment in the full school-year program and remains the same regardless of individual student absences.

Class recordings are available for two weeks to help students catch up.
