A gentle, living introduction to Spanish for beginners, designed for Charlotte Mason families who value short lessons, meaningful language, and steady progress.

This is a recording-only course with lessons released gradually, allowing children to grow in confidence without pressure or overwhelm.

Who Is Spanish 1 For?

Spanish 1 is best for:

• Children ages 6–7 who are just beginning Spanish
• Older beginners with little to no prior exposure and that enjoy learning through children's folk songs, illustrated books, classic poems, games, and more. 
• Families new to foreign language study following a Charlotte Mason approach

No previous Spanish experience is required.

Course Start & Release Schedule

• Course begins: March 2026
• 2 new video lessons released each week
• Lessons are added gradually throughout the course

If you enroll after March 2026, you will have immediate access to all recordings posted so far, and you may begin right away and move through the course at your own pace, while continuing to receive new lessons as they are released.

Course Structure

• 60 total video lessons
• 3 trimesters
• 10 weeks per trimester
• 2 lessons per week
• Each lesson is 10–15 minutes

This structure supports Charlotte Mason’s emphasis on short, focused lessons that preserve attention and delight.

What We Use to Teach (Spanish 1)

In Spanish 1, children are introduced to Spanish through living, age-appropriate materials, including:

• Games
• Picture books
• Children’s folk songs
• Poems
• Gentle conversation

There is no formal grammar instruction, no reading, and no writing at this level. The focus is on listening, speaking, and natural language acquisition.

Our Teaching Philosophy

Spanish is taught as a living language, not as a list of rules to memorize.

Lessons emphasize:

• Spoken Spanish from the beginning
• Repetition in meaningful context
• Oral participation at a child-appropriate level
• Confidence before correctness
