Spanish 3 marks an important transition in the study of Spanish: from primarily oral language to beginning reading, while still honoring Charlotte Mason’s principles of short lessons, living books, and steady progress.

Designed for Charlotte Mason families, this recorded course introduces reading in Spanish through our carefully adapted and translated McGuffey primer, used gently and intentionally as a living text.

This is a recording-only course, with lessons released gradually.

Who Is Spanish 3 For?

Spanish 3 is best for:

• Students who have completed Spanish 2
• Learners with a good foundation in listening and speaking Spanish
• Children who are ready to begin reading in Spanish in a gentle, supported way
• Students 10+ years old just starting to learn Spanish and not yet ready for grammar instruction. 
• Charlotte Mason families who value classic texts and narration-based learning

Students nine and younger should already be comfortable understanding spoken Spanish and responding orally before beginning this level.

Course Structure

• 60 total video lessons
• 3 trimesters
• 10 weeks per trimester
• 2 lessons per week
• Each lesson is 10–15 minutes

Lessons remain short and focused, preserving attention while allowing students to engage more deeply with language through reading.

Course Release Schedule

• Lessons are released gradually throughout the course
• 2 new video lessons are posted each week

Families who enroll after the course has begun will receive immediate access to all recordings posted so far and may move through the lessons at their own pace, while continuing to receive newly released lessons.

What We Use to Teach (Spanish 3)

Spanish 3 introduces beginning reading in Spanish using:

• The McGuffey Primer, carefully translated and adapted by our team
• Short, classic-style reading passages
• Continued songs, poems, and oral language
• Gentle conversation and narration
• Optional Copybook may be done by older students.

Reading is introduced slowly and thoughtfully, with a strong emphasis on understanding, pronunciation, and meaning.

There is no rushed decoding and no workbook-heavy approach. Reading serves the language, not the other way around.

Spanish continues to be taught as a living language, now supported by living text.
